  1. Update items via bulk import

Add the ability to update items via bulk import. An example of why this would be important is for a cycle count or a stock take.

  9. Ability to add new attributes/variants to an existing item

We have some items that when bulk imported only had 1 variant, like 1 color. It would be helpful if we could add additional attributes and variants when we add another color or size of the same item. When that happens now, we need to delete the item and create a new one with the additional attributes and variants.

  10. Pick Lists: Include Item Tags, Notes, and Details

First off, I just want to say that whoever came up with the idea of creating the Picklist feature is absolutely amazing. It is such a wonderful addition and has already made things so much easier. I just have a small suggestion that could make it even better. It would be really helpful if there was an option to include tags, notes, or other item-specific details directly on the picklist. Sometimes there is important information, like the unit where the item is stored, that is included in the tags or notes. For example, I tag each item with the unit it is located in, and being able to see that on the picklist would really help streamline the process and save time by removing the need to search for each item’s info manually. Thank you so much for your time and consideration. And again, thank you for building such a useful tool.

  11. Automate Check In/Check Out

"The Sortly system seems to a very capable system, but for our simple needs it is currently not a good fit for my organization. The lack of a way to automate the check-out/-in processes results in more steps than our current paper-based process we are trying to replace. I appreciate your willingness to forward an automation process to your development team. Please consider forwarding the following text as well. Many years ago, I was the receiving clerk in a warehouse. Since that time, I have been the Project Manager at a large nuclear power plant that installed an Inventory Control System for tools and instruments. Now I am the point person seeking an Inventory Management System for a non-profit, woodworking organization. One thing that is repeated in all 3 inventory related activities are a small number of processes that are repeated hundreds of times daily. Reducing the steps for these repeated processes is a time saver. Adding a method to automate such processes should make your existing, very functional system very attractive to every one of your current and future customers. For example, to check-out or check-in inventory items the Sortly user would have a Check-In, Check-in, and Done buttons on their smart phone or computer screen. The Sortly system user would select the Check-out/-in button, then scan a user’s ID badge followed by scanning one or more tools being checked-out or checked-in. To complete the process the Sortly user would select the Done button."

  12. Serialized Items on PO

Allow users to create a Purchase Order with multiple quantities of the same item (e.g., 10Γ— Makita 5" Grinders) and, upon receipt, increment stock while entering a unique serial number for each unit. This would eliminate the need to create multiple single-item entries and allow individually serialized items to be tracked and moved between folders separately.

  13. Allow "Custom Fields" and "Tags" to be shown on the Invoicing and Purchasing tabs.

This would be helpful in terms of record keeping, but also to give more accurate details about items being sold or purchased.
